8. 2023 Rivian R1T Max Pack
There are a lot of rumors and splashes when talking about the 2023 RIVIAN R1T Max Pack. But the most important and the most heart wrecking are the news that it is delayed once again. There have been several delays and those are probably due to the raging pandemic. Supply chain issues also don’t help with production. Battery shortage might be partly to blame as well.
But all that bad news aside, what can we expect when this famed truck hits the road. When announced, we were promised amazing performance statistics from Rivian. This is an all-electric truck and a great step towards what the future holds for the truck and vehicle industry. There are three battery options offered. Buyers can choose from 105, 135, or 180 kWh batteries.
If you get the 2023 Rivian R1T Max Pack with the largest battery you can expect over 400 miles of range. For an all-electric vehicle, this is amazing. The truck can go from zero to sixty in under three seconds, quite impressive for a heavy pickup. All of this sounds amazing, but we want to see that in action to believe it. It can achieve 80% battery charge in under 50 minutes.
The Tesla Cybertruck is not the only thing making headlines with its design. Rivian R1T looks stunning and futuristic as well. The exterior looks like it were made for the future. It has nice angles and isn’t blocky, this makes it modern and aggressive. We suspect some of the design is due to aerodynamics and increasing the range of the car. Headlights are something that wasn’t seen before on a truck. They have a vertical design, and the latest LED technology is used. There is also an LED bar that goes from left to right on the front fascia. Fun fact, while charging this light glows green.
The truck is based on a skateboard base, it has adjustable suspension. It has 14.2 inches of ride height which is great for off-roading as well. On the inside, the R1T can seat five people comfortably. There is a huge touchscreen in the middle, we have chrome and leather accents all around the cabin and the dashboard is all digital. So expect a minimalistic design with a dash of luxury. The release date is still uncertain but we know the price will be in the $100.000 range.
