6. 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4 Denali
We have already seen several electric trucks or off-roading-focused trucks on the list. This is one of the biggest competitions on the market as of now. GMC is trying to make its mark with the 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4 Denali. All three of the manufacturers from Detroit are making all sizes of trucks and no wonder GMC made an off-roading one. Ford has F-150 Raptor and RAM has 1500 TRX, so it was just a matter of time before GMC tried to disturb the pecking order.
Sierra is a more luxurious pickup, and the current HD AT4 gives it a bit of wild spirit. This model without the Denali redesign has a good suspension lift, 2 inches we believe. It has monotube shocks made by Rancho and 20-inch wheels that ride on Goodyear Wrangler off-roading tires. Rear differential locking is available along with two-speed transfer cases. This makes hill descents look like a breeze and there is also GMC’s Traction Select System to enable the best driving possible at any given moment.
It should be available in several cab options. Regular cab, Double Cab, and Crew cab. There is plenty of space inside so five people can sit comfortably with room to spare. As far as engines are concerned, and we know readers are concerned, GMC gave us a treat here.
We have two options, the first one is a 6.6 liter L8T V8 gasoline-powered engine. It doesn’t have turbochargers, it is a 6-speed automatic transmission. It produces around 400 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque.
Another engine we have available is also 6.6 liters. It is a diesel-powered Duramax L5P V8. It comes with 10-speed Allison automatic transmission. Producing 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. More than enough for any kind of workload.
