Among the recently redesigned and refreshed models, the light-duty Toyota Tundra is the oldest design but it still gets high scores for the reliability and capability and standard safety equipment. The off-road specialized TRD Pro version is also the model’s strong side. The Tundra TRD Pro comes with the special underpinning and raised suspension as well as additional body protection to make the off-roading both easier and safer. For the 2020 model year, the Tundra remains the third-generation version but comes with some welcomed updates. The truck gets finally an upgraded infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto support. The big news is also the discontinuation of the base 4.6-liter V-8 engine. 2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro: Design
The 2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro has an extraordinary off-road capability but it stands out with the unique visual identity as well. The model uses a TRD-branded, blacked-out grille combined with dark-themed LED headlights and Rigid Industries LED fog lights. The eye-catchy futures are also the hood scoop and special 18-inch forged-aluminum BBS wheels. The model comes also with the raised ride height and unique tailgate with dark-themed taillights.
From the visual perspective, the things remain pretty much the same for the new model year, but Toyota adds the Double Can body style to the play. The new cab configuration will come with the 6.5’ cargo bed while the Crew Cab uses a short 5.5’ bed.
The TRD Pro version can also be had with some unique body colors like Army Green and buyers can also pick Midnight Black Metallic, Magnetic Gary Metallic and Super White.
Interior, Equipment:
The Tundra TRD Pro gets several new features and updated infotainment system for the new model year while the interior design remains the same.
The model has the driver and front passenger seats treated with leather and signed with the TRD logo. The off-roader gets also the TRD-branded shift knob and floor mats. The red accent stitching on the seat armrest and dash is also distinctive features of the model.

2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro: Performance
Toyota abandoned the base 310 hp 4.6-liter V-8 for the 2020 model year and all versions come with the 5.7-liter V-8 engine under the hood. The2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro can count on 381 hp and torque of 401 pound-feet from this engine. The pair with the potent but thirsty V-8 is a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The part of the TRD Pro’s portfolio is also a part-time four-wheel-drive system with electronically controlled transfer case and a limited-slip differential. The model relies also on the special TRD-tuned suspension with 1.5 inches of extra suspension lift up front and 2.0 inches rear. Helping while concurring rugged terrains are also heavy-duty Fox shocks combined with TRD-tuned springs. The TRD shocks have biffy pistons and 11 bypass zones for the front setup and 12 zones for the rear. The design of the shocks provides also better heat dispersion.
The TRD Pro model gets also TRD-branded aluminum skid plate and all-terrain tires.
2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro: Release, Price
The updated 2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro will go on sale later in the year. The newest Tundra will cost from $35, 020 but for the off-road adventures with the TRD Pro version buyers will have to pay more. The new TRD Pro Double Cab configuration will start at $50, 100. The TRD Pro Crew Cab will demand about $52, 500.
