Jeep is once again delaying their much talked about 2024 Jeep Gladiator 4xe Plug-In Hybrid. This truck has been all the rage on the internet for quite some time. And too many times we have seen it get delayed. Hopefully last time.
The 2024 model year is supposed to be a carryover model. It should introduce smaller changes, nothing too drastic and out of the ordinary. Hopefully some styling improvements and some technological tweaks to make the pickup run better. The interesting news is that the 2024 Jeep Gladiator 4xe Plug-In Hybrid will be using the same system as the Wrangler 4xe. This means better mileage and better fuel efficiency and also faster charging.
The hybrid systems and electric vehicles are new to Jeep. Mostly all they have been doing is introducing gas-guzzling cars. The truck will be competing in the mid-size pickup category which means its competition will be fierce.
Although Jeep has proven as a good truck maker, the likes of Ford, GMC, and RAM are going to make its life difficult. Let us learn more about the upcoming changes for the 2024 Jeep Gladiator 4xe Plug-In Hybrid.
Interior
The all-new 2024 Jeep Gladiator 4xe Plug-In Hybrid is resembling a lot of its cousin Wrangler. And this is a good thing. Remember, SUVs are more stylish than trucks that are predominantly working horses. This means they don’t give too much thought to details. So borrowing some ideas and gadgets from the Wrangler is much appreciated.
Jeep tried to do what every other truck maker is doing. Make the interior look upper class and give it an exclusive look. Trucks aren’t just for work anymore, they are a style statement, people drive them because they like the way they look while driving them.
Inside the 2024 Jeep Gladiator 4xe PHEV, we can see better upholstery to start with. There will be a choice of leather, suede, and fabric along with contrast stitching. This will add to that premium look Jeep is going for. Heated and ventilated seats would further improve the comfort which is important in a truck that will probably be used for prolonged periods of time.
There will be a central infotainment system that you can control everything in the car. The size is uncertain, hopefully not less than 10 inches so everyone can enjoy the fun. The dashboard is going to be all digital. This is a great step towards the futuristic look of vehicles. Also, there are numerous chrome accents along with the cabin. This increases the luxury feel and makes this a first-class ride.
The cabin is big enough for five people to sit comfortably. Plenty of legroom and headroom which is great. Hopefully, Jeep keeps the number of knobs and buttons to the minimum. This minimalistic look is becoming highly popular. And you have to give the people what they want.
Exterior
On the outside, we are getting a very UTE vibe from the 2024 Jeep Gladiator 4xe Plug-In Hybrid. The truck looks like a Wrangler with a long tail. And we see that as a good thing. The Wrangler is very popular at off-roading adventures and is capable in the wild. It can overcome pretty much anything nature throws at him.
So having some of that pedigree is a great idea. In the front, we have a big wide grill. It is also very tall and covers all of the front faces. This is done for several reasons. First of all, it is Jeeps style and second of all this increases air intake. Having better air circulation ensures there is enough cool air under the hood to keep everything chill. Having overheating issues is not something Jeep is famous for but you can never be sure.
There is a filter mesh on the front grille so nothing except air can get inside the car. The wheels are very beefy. And that is something we expected from Jeep. This truck does have an off-roading vibe and looks like it can tackle anything. The headlights are a classic circular shape, using the latest LED technology to improve visibility and safety.
Rims are made of aluminum to shave off weight and improve the power to weight ratio. We are uncertain if there will be a choice of wheel sizes but rims are going to be probably 19 inches. Bumpers are still dominant on the 2024 Jeep Gladiator 4xe Plug-In Hybrid as on any of their products. We also have to mention that the new Gladiator will be able to take the roof off. This can be great for those long summer drives.
2024 Jeep Gladiator 4xe Plug-In Hybrid Engine Options
Jeep is staying true to its statement and is making the 2024 Jeep Gladiator 4xe Plug-In Hybrid. Electrification is just beginning and this is one of their first EVs or hybrids. Stellantis is helping them on this endeavor which is great since they have a proven track record.
The 4xe is already used in Wrangler so we might know what we will be getting under the hood of the new 2024 Gladiator. The hybrid powertrain might have a 17 kWh battery pack that can alone give 25 miles on a single charge. Not bad for a small battery. It will be under the back seat to save space.
Combined with the engine it should produce around 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Along with the hybrid system, fuel economy will improve and that saves a lot of money in the future.
It will be good to see a fully electric version of the truck since we know that it is possible to make a strong pickup with just electricity running it.
Another part of the hybrid system is a 3.6 liter V6 gasoline engine. There will also be an EcoDiesel option that is 3.0 liters.
The powertrain is paired with a 6-speed or 8-speed automatic transmission and comes only with an all-wheel drive.
