The pickup market has gotten a lot of traction lately. They are very versatile and heavily used for many things outside of being simple workhorses. This is why see a lot of new additions on the market and all of them have different trims. The trims dictate several amenities and prices. But also, the degree of luxury that comes with the vehicle.
Lately, there is a trend for high-luxury pickups. The demand is there and manufacturers are trying to come out as the top dog in this fight. Of course, this is not an easy task as almost every company has its flagship luxury pickup. Let’s take a look at some of the best luxury pickups at this time.
2023 Toyota Tundra Capstone
After almost fourteen years of offering the unchanged basic trim, Toyota decided to revamp its huge Tundra pickup for 2022, choosing evolution over revolution. Although it doesn’t exactly match the US pickup-truck blueprint, it doesn’t alter the big-pickup status quo either. For starters, it lacks an available V-8 engine, making it the sole full-size truck in the half-ton market.
The base version of the engine, which is solely a twin-turbocharged V-6, has 348 or 379 horsepower depending on the model, while the more potent hybridized version generates 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque. Every Tundra has a 10-speed automatic gearbox and may be driven with the rear of the four wheels. On the inside, we have some major improvements. The new 14-inch infotainment system and 12-inch gauge cluster are big upgrades. Also, there is a lot of new safety technology including hands-free driving.
2023 Ford F-150 King Ranch
The King Ranch, which comes standard with a 5.0-liter V8, has far more power than it needs to move the SuperCrew cab around. If you wanted to, you could also install the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 or the hybrid version of the PowerBoost. Five people can sit there relatively comfortably. It has brand-new standard features like a heated and power-adjustable steering wheel covered in Mesa leather, real wood interior trim, heated rear seats, and a flow-through center console with a collapsible floor shifter.
We also get wipers that detect rain, there is also a power outlet, a wireless charging pad, navigation software, a HomeLink receiver and transmitter, adaptive cruise control, and hands-free driving. It comes with an eight-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system and accent-color bumpers, 20-inch wheels, and two-tone paint. The front grille is in Stone Gray color and some other exterior parts are as well. There is a lot of chrome on it and it has newly designed cornering headlights with LED technology.
2023 Jeep Gladiator High Altitude
This pickup is made in classic Jeep fashion. It has all the makings of a traditional Jeep but with added modern luxury. Those that desire something more exquisite than the Rubicon or Mojave can purchase the High Altitude. But, this model is more of a luxury car and isn’t as competent at off-roading as those two models. Given that its owners are unlikely to use it off-road, it receives complete body-color treatment and 20-inch rims that were never before present on a Gladiator. The embroidered Nappa leather upholstery with Caramel stitching improves the cabin.
Given that this vehicle will be used primarily in suburban areas, the Jeep Active Safety Package comes standard and includes features like rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring. It comes with a 3.6-liter V6 engine and has good mileage, around 22mpg on the open road. Horsepower could be better which is 285 and torque is measured at 450 pound-feet of torque.
2023 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate
The flagship luxury vehicle from GMC is the Sierra Denali Ultimate. The nametag doesn’t come cheap, it is estimated at around $80000. But when all is said and done, it comes with enough amenities and luxury to justify the heavy price tag. It also has a powerful engine which is a 6.2-liter V8 or an improved 3.0-liter Duramax Turbo Diesel.
It has a maximum power of 420 horses and 500 pound-feet of torque. This is more than enough, as this is a luxury trim and we don’t expect the Denali Ultimate to do some serious lifting. There will be a brand-made audio system by Bose, with 12 speakers. And most importantly, Super Cruise hands-free driving is also available.
2023 Chevy Silverado High Country
Another high-luxury vehicle is the new Silverado with the High Country tag. The High Country Silverado is the most sumptuous model. It is only available as a Crew Cab variant and only in 4WD when fitted with the standard bed. The 3.0-liter Duramax diesel engine and the 6.2-liter V8 are options, while the 5.3-liter V8 is the standard engine.
The High Country builds on the LTZ’s standard and available feature package by adding a few distinctive additions like trailer assistance with Hitch View, dual exhaust systems, 20-inch alloy wheel rims wrapped in all-terrain tires, and a camera for seeing the truck bed. Moreover, the High Country receives heated back seats, chrome-made exhaust tips, and a spray-in bedliner. Only the High Country offers GM’s Super Cruise, a partially self-driving technology that, on certified highways, can operate the Silverado with little input from the driver.
2023 RAM 1500 Longhorn Limited
The Limited Longhorn, which features pretty much all the goodies Laramie has plus more, is intended for the ranch manager. As a result, it has 20-inch alloy wheels, LED foglights, bi-function headlamps, chrome running boards, window surrounds, and hook-and-winch capabilities.
A 12-inch digital gauge cluster, LED ambient lights to set the mood, top quality leather seats, heated rear seats, wood interior trim, a fancy wood-and-leather steering wheel made of real wood, and a touchscreen that is as big as possible but still has the same functionality as the Laramie are all included inside. The engine is not too impressive, it is a 3.6-liter V6 engine which is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
2023 Nissan Titan Platinum Reserve
The luxury pickup from Nissan is nothing less than spectacular. It comes with a 5.6-liter V8 engine, which is paired with a 9-speed auto gearbox. It reaches 400 horsepower with 420 pound-feet of torque. It is all-wheel drive but there is an option for two-wheel drive as well. The wheel rims are made of lightweight aluminum and are 20 inches in size.
It has dual-zone climate control and the front seats have heating and ventilation as well as massaging feature. Rain-sensing wipers are implemented as well as improved lumbar support. There is NissanConnect Navigation as well as hands-free driving. The safety features included lane change alerts and parking assistance, which will surely come in handy while parking the huge Titan.
2023 GMC Hummer EV SUT
We never imagined a brand-new Hummer would return to US highways, but the off-roading monster was resurrected recently as a no less than an electric pickup truck known as the GMC Hummer EV. This version is not a weak, frugal model. It has a 1000-hp electric drivetrain, can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds, and can push its way through almost any terrain.
The Hummer EV can more easily navigate around obstacles like bumps and stones with the help of a rear-wheel steering system, and it can even drive sideways while in its innovative Crab driving mode. This is truly a revolution in the market, especially since it is an EV and is such a powerful pickup.
