2023 Toyota Tacoma Redesign: Hybrid and EV Coming Soon!

Toyota first gave us a redesigned Tundra, and fans can rejoice with the news of an upcoming 2023 Toyota Tacoma. Most cars and trucks have a life cycle of five to seven years. This puts current Tacoma in the old news category. Although Tacoma is one of the most sold vehicles in America. But competition is fierce with Nissan Frontier, Chevrolet Colorado, Jeep Gladiator, and others fighting for the top dog spot.

Toyota is trying to stay ahead with this reboot of Tacoma. It is going to take a lot of improvements to win the hearts of truck lovers. There are even words for an all-electric variant as well as the hybrid version of the 2023 Toyota Tacoma. The word on the street is that there is a complete redesign. But until we have official confirmation of what is to come, we can only speculate and hope. Interior

2023 Toyota Tacoma Engine Options

Currently, Tacoma is sporting a 3.5 liter V6 under the hood. Which is powerful, don’t be mistaken. But we heard through the grapevine that there is going to be a new engine in the 2023 Toyota Tacoma. Word on the street is, that it is getting replaced with a four-cylinder turbocharged engine.

Hopefully, Toyota is making both diesel and gas versions, this will give it a fighting opportunity against its competitors. Who are very versatile when it comes to fuel choices. The engine is going to be a smaller, 2.4-liter version but this is still powerful and helps with fuel consumption problems that most trucks have. The new engine will increase the torque from 265 pound-feet to 317. Not much change with horsepower as we said, so expect the new Tacoma to roar mightily, it is stronger than some of its competitors, for example, Ford Ranger which has 270 horsepower.

We are not sure about what type of transmission the 2023 Toyota Tacoma will have. Some reports indicate a 6-speed manual as before as well as 8-speed automatic transmission.

Hybrid and Electric variant

The long-awaited 2023 Toyota Tacoma will hit the shelves sometime during the summer. It is expected the price will be higher due to the many upgrades it received.

To ballpark it, we could say it is going to be around $ 30.000. The hybrid and EV versions would probably be more, and the off-road version is going to be closer to $50.000.
