The forthcoming 2022 Nissan Navara is going on sale in a one-year time. This popular pickup truck is a subject of some dramatic changes and upgrades. For a start, numerous speculations are writing about the brand-new all-electric variant. Some other reports are predicting a plug-in hybrid powertrain. We think both outcomes are likely to happen.
After all, every established manufacturer is working on electrification nowadays. That includes brands such as Ford, GM, and Toyota. Electric models are the future and Navara is a perfect candidate for it. Besides that, we expect numerous cosmetic upgrades, interior updates, and more standard features for 2022MY.
The 2022 Nissan Navara should deliver numerous visual upgrades. The arriving pickup truck already looks handsome and modern. For a start, the front trapezoidal grille will gain more chrome and the front bumper seems to be wider. Navara also offers LED headlights that are enlarged for 2022MY. With these changes, the front part looks better than ever. The side profile wears stylish 18-inch wheels.
Those rims are optional but we’d recommend them to anyone. Nissan will slightly improve the bodywork and we expect to see further aluminum treatment. The aerodynamics will be improved so fuel efficiency will slightly improve. From what we know, dimensions are unchanged.
On the inside, the 2022 Nissan Navara continues with the updates. This model is known for its comfortable and modern cabin. However, Nissan won’t stop there and we expect to see a couple of interesting upgrades. The cabin will feature more modern shapes but its layout won’t change at all. The goal is to deliver an upright cabin that is more than competitive.
Because of that, Nissan will probably introduce new upholstery. Moreover, Navara will gain more high-tech amenities and more standard features. Like any other modern pickup, Navara could also lose a couple of physical buttons. This leads us to a new and larger touchscreen option that won’t be offered as standard.
The forthcoming 2022 Nissan Navara won’t change in terms of conventional engine options. This pickup will continue to offer a 2.3-liter diesel with 210 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. A 2.5-liter gasoline engine is also in the offer, as always before. Some speculations are predicting a new and larger 3.0-liter diesel powertrain. However, this is not official yet.
It seems like Nissan prepares a complete game-changer. Yes, we are talking about electrified Navara. The Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance is reportedly working on a new all-electric powertrain option. Right now, we don’t know the specs, but Navara will borrow this setup from the next-gen Trifon model. A hybrid powertrain could also be in the mix. Still, Nissan has to confirm this, which will probably happen in the coming months.
The all-new 2022 Nissan Navara will hit the markets in the second half of 2021. The price will start at around $29,000 and the rumored all-electric variant will surely cost around $40,000. The production already started in South Africa and the Japanese manufacturer will reveal more details in the coming months.

How about a small hybrid pickup? Our grid cant handle too many fully electric vehicles and a Hybrid charges with kinetic energy which is free and burns no fossil fuel to charge unlike electric cars.
