2025 Nissan Titan Discontinued; Replacement is Ready

Experts were warning about this. After discontinuing a heavy-duty XD model, Nissan is also ending production of the half-ton Titan truck. News is official and there is no way the company will change mind. Sales are slow and upgrades are expensive. Plus, the carmaker can invest these funds into a more profitable segment, such as a mid-size SUV, or a compact crossover class. Anyway, the 2025 Nissan Titan will be the final edition of the pickup that gathered a lot of fans in the past 20 years.

The truckmaker is not wasting time – the 2025 Nissan Titan replacement will be out soon. From what we heard, the Japanese manufacturer is not giving up the truck segment entirely. Instead of the Titan, we’ll get something that was supposed to be the off-road package. That’s right, it is time for the Warrior concept to become a reality and replace the old pickup.

Well, renaming a vehicle is not enough. Nissan will have to bring serious changes to become competitive. There is a long way to go and the new truck won’t debut before 2026. The name is still a speculation. However, it must be an all-new. Some of the things we saw on the concept can still draw attention.

Farewell Edition

The truck is entering its last couple of seasons in the production so the company might prepare something special. The 2025 Nissan Titan Farewell Edition is one of the ideas. The truck would be packed with plenty of features and become a premium vehicle. Today, Platinum Reserve is the most expensive configuration. Still, the Titan Pro-4X is the most popular because of its off-road skills.

The last edition will have to show something special and make people feel sorry for not buying the pickup before, which lead to the end of production. Still, truckers are fans of performance and working capability, rather than posh styling and modern features.

Replacement: Warrior Truck

So, we know the 2025 Nissan Titan is the last model of this truck. But, we doubt the company is dropping everything and leaving the market. The architecture is still good and it can be useful with minor modifications. On the other hand, everything else needs to be new. Warrior concept can deliver that. The prototype of this truck made a strong impression. However, it was meant to be a trim level, but it becomes a successor.

The design is still modern and something you won’t see every day. But, it is not for everyone. Plus, the truck was designed to be an off-road warrior. Designers will have to run some modifications, both outside and inside. The pickup needs a few cab configurations and trim levels. A new architecture is going to underpin this model. Nissan developed the Monograph concept for big SUVs, such as the Armada and Infiniti QX80. It can be a good starting point for the new pickup truck.

2025 Nissan Titan Specs

Fans expected a new generation of the truck that would bring a more efficient powertrain. Well, since the 2025 Nissan Titan is the final edition of the pickup, there won’t be big changes under the hood. A 5.6-liter V8 is there with 400 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque. An automatic transmission sends power to the wheels. RWD and 4WD are available. The towing capacity of the Titan is 9,320 pounds. The new vehicle will have to do a lot better. The main issue with a V8 engine is the fuel consumption. A big rig went 16 mpg combined.

The upcoming Nissan Warrior truck, Titan’s replacement, will probably use a turbocharged V6 engine instead of a V8. In this case, the pickup is getting similar power outputs thanks to the turbocharging system. Also, a six-cylinder unit consumes less fuel. Plus, the potential hybrid upgrade can make the Warrior a lot more fuel-friendlier.

2025 Nissan Titan XD

Titan XD is a special, larger version of the pickup. It was available with a diesel engine, but this one was discontinued a couple of years ago. With an oil burner, the XD truck achieved better towing capacity. This model was larger than the base one, but many experts didn’t consider it an HD truck. The Titan XD was somewhere between classes. The question is also what will happen with this vehicle. Anyhow, the Warrior concept debuted first as an upgrade to the Titan XD truck with a diesel engine.

2025 Nissan Titan Pro-4X

The Pro-4X is the package that makes adventures in the wilderness more exciting. Thanks to improved skills, this version of the 2025 Nissan Titan will take you anywhere. Sometimes we feel like the Pro-4X is undervalued compared to other similar bundles for Titan’s rivals. For example, it is not much worse than the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro or Chevy Silverado ZR2. The price of the 4×4 model is not too high – starting at $62,000. The base version is a bit expensive with a $45,000 price tag. It is also one of the reasons for slow sales, and eventually discontinuation.
