2023 RAM 1500 TRX Changes, Price, and Expectations

For monster truck lovers we have a treat, 2023 RAM 1500 TRX is about to drop and we couldn’t be more excited. The TRX version is a much beefier and faster version of the standard RAM 1500. It has a stronger engine, the body dimensions are bigger as well. The speed on this beast is amazing. It goes to 60mph in just 3.7 seconds. Quite impressive for a huge truck that isn’t supposed to be drag racing.

It will be competing in the same category as F-150 Raptor. But we believe it could win outright in a straight-up duel between the two. One of the most interesting things about the TRX is the Hellcat engine. Which proved its worth many times in the past. It has a good track record of powering beasts of vehicles. Although the 2023 RAM 1500 TRX is a sportier and better-looking version, it can still be put to work and utilized like a truck is supposed to be used. Interior

Not much is changing drastically on the inside of the 2023 RAM 1500 TRX. The cabin will still have a sporty and sleek design. It will be able to seat at least five people comfortably. The cabin is huge in the TRX, it is offered only as a crew cab, unfortunately. But we wouldn’t want it any other way, to be honest. This is a half-ton pickup truck but it feels like a first-class flight when you take a seat.

RAM surpassed its competitors with a level of refinement and style it puts in its trucks lately. There are different trims of course namely TR1 and TR2 which determine the number of amenities available on the inside. As far as upholstery is concerned we are all set here. There is leather and high-quality suede available. This is a big step away from the classic sporty trucks which offer bad fabric and lousy stitching. There are carbon fiber and micro suede accents all along with the interior which makes this truck look dashing and luxurious.

We also get a digital rearview mirror which is not often seen in pickup trucks. Heated and ventilated seats are available with the TRX and we can’t emphasize how important this is. Especially in a working truck, you want to feel comfortable and be able to sit for a long time without any issues. Cooling and heating seats will allow that and make you forget you are steering a half-ton pickup. Heads up display is also available on the basic trim. There is a 12-inch infotainment system available on the dashboard, vertically mounted. We get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with Bluetooth and wifi hotspot.

Navigation is already built-in which is a nice addition, you also get satellite radio which is not seen very often. There are some knobs and buttons so it is not all digital. However, we do get a top-of-the-line surround system made by Harman Kardon assembled from 19 speakers. This is going to allow you to blast your favorite tunes while enjoying a comfortable ride.

Exterior

As already mentioned, the 2023 RAM 1500 TRX is a huge half pickup truck. But it looks like a sleek truck that is lightweight and is going to zoom past you. It is curvy and without too many sharp sides. This is done partly for aerodynamics which would increase stability and driveability. However, it also adds to the style and gives the truck the sporty appearance it is looking for.

We see huge aluminum alloy wheels, wrapped with mad off-roading tires. This truck is supposed to go off-road and it will most definitely be equipped to do so. It has some extra ground clearance so you don’t get stuck or stranded on some obstacles. The front and back bumpers look sturdier and more aggressive, they are also at an angle to allow for better ground clearance.

The headlights look as if they came from a spaceship. They are very sleek and futuristic in design and are using the latest LED technology to ensure better visibility. On the RAM TRX, we get a specially designed hood that has air inlets to ensure better air circulation. This is added to the front grille which is high and wide and improves air circulation. All this equates to zero overheating issues while pushing your truck to its limits. And might we say its limits are high.

2023 RAM 1500 TRX Engine Options

This might be the most interesting part about the 2023 RAM 1500 TRX. Its roaring Hellcat engine. So under that stylish hood is a monster of an engine. It is a supercharged 6.2 liter Hemi V8 engine, also known as a Hellcat engine. This monster boasts around 702 horsepower and gives 650-pound feet of torque. We get an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

It can get from 0 to 60mph in just 3.7 seconds, something you don’t expect in a truck. And is surely the quickest pickup in its class. Even though it is a beast of a truck while equipped with the Hellcat engine, it is surprisingly easy to handle and drives smoothly. In the city, this engine can go 10mpg and 14mpg outside the city. Not great in terms of fuel economy but you don’t get this engine if you want to skim on fuel. And it is not far off from its main competitor the Raptor which gets only 18mpg on the highway.

2023 RAM 1500 TRX Price and Release Date

The price of the car is around $60000 for the base trim, it might increase if it is all tweaked out. As for the release date, we are hoping for late 2022 although this might change due to the pandemic issues. Even though most things will be the same with the 2023 RAM 1500 TRX, we will see some minor changes and restyling tweaks.

Ram will start its sixth generation during the 2024 refreshment that they announced on EV day. Although nothing will change drastically before the new powertrain is introduced we expect this truck to have at least one year run. This truck is a top seller and we don’t see why Ram wouldn’t capitalize on that and profit with just minor changes.
