Infiniti Pickup Truck Concept: Can we expect new luxury Pickup Truck from Infiniti?

It seems that Mercedes’ first ever pickup truck may trigger an avalanche of the similar models. One of them in the line could be Nissan’s luxury department without any doubt. There are several reasons for which we believe that the Infiniti Pickup Truck may arrive very soon. The first one is Nissan’s collaboration on Mercedes’ X-Class and the other is necessary experience, which the Japanese carmaker already has. The real question is does the world needs one more luxury, road-oriented truck? Well, of course?

Infiniti Pickup Truck Concept Could be Based on QX50

According to information we have, the Infiniti Pickup Truck won’t be just a fancier Navara or Frontier sibling, but a true Infiniti truck with separate roots. Nissan’s luxury department will reportedly rely on its own crossover, most likely the all-new QX50. Now, we can’t say how exactly will look the future vehicle, but it’s going to be interesting without any doubt.

Moreover, the carmaker will likely keep the front end styling untouched, which means that the Infiniti Pickup Truck could get a massive mesh grille with a pair of slim and narrow headlights, LED of course. The sharp-edged exteriors styling might continue along the complete body. The biggest difference between the crossover and the future pickup will be the footprint. Yes, the fancy workhorse needs a few additional inches to compete with Mercedes’ X-Class and Honda’s awesome Ridgeline.

Possible Engine Options

Performance wise, the Infiniti Pickup Truck will probably get two amazing options. The base model will feature a new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The unit will allegedly achieve 268 horsepower and 288 lb-ft of twist thanks to the new variable-compression technology, so-called VC-T. The upcoming vehicle might add a 3.7-liter V6 mill as well. If everything stays untouched the engine will produce exactly 325 horsepower, though we expect to be boosted for the truck needs.

The real fun will be inside without any doubt. The Japanese carmaker won’t skip the chance to add everything they have or will have when the vehicle arrives. The dash will likely use analog gauges with one digital screen between them, and a dual-screen arrangement on the center stack, which should be in charge for most of the truck’s functions.

Official Debut

Even though Mercedes doesn’t offer its all-new truck in North America, Nissan’s premium department won’t miss the chance without any doubt. Moreover, we think that the Infiniti Pickup Truck could make its debut exactly in U.S., probably next year at the 2018 New York Auto Show.
