Many pickups are getting redesign, and the 2024 Honda Ridgeline is no exception. This pickup is screaming for a redesign; it has been quite some time since it got an update. The current generation has been on the road since 2016, and in the automotive industry, this is quite long. Many manufacturers are racing to update their pickups more often than ever. No one likes a stale and outdated vehicle. The midsize segment is quite popular nowadays. The pickup truck category is currently the largest on the market. and is getting larger with each passing day. This generation of the Ridgeline could be the one to make more drastic changes.
There aren’t too many official announcements about the upcoming pickup. But there are many rumors and speculations that are half-truths. There are some things that are to be expected and are more likely to happen. There should be a new platform, according to some people. This might be the first step towards electrification and going green. The interior could also benefit from an update; it is a little dated, and the technology could be improved. The outside of the pickup will have the classic Ridgeline look with minor updates. The powertrain is still a big mystery. Let’s take a closer look at what we know so far about the upcoming Honda pickup.
The inside of the new 2024 Honda Ridgeline is getting serious updates. Better cushioning and features such as heating and ventilation improve the setting. Top-grain leather is combined with contrast stitching. For the harsh environment and off-roading, we feel that fabric would be a better material. But designers usually know what they are doing. It can seat five people comfortably with plenty of legroom. The dashboard is digital, which is a nice surprise.
And we get a classic central infotainment system. Connectivity is standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You can count on getting a moonroof as well. There are new technologies as well. It is called the Honda Sensing Suite and it has a collision mitigation braking system that detects pedestrians and vehicles in front. It automatically brakes and is a literal lifesaver. There is also a Road Departure Mitigation System. This applies to steering and braking if you go off the road or switch to the oncoming lane.
The exterior of the 2024 Honda Ridgeline looks similar to the previous version. It is rugged yet stylish and has the right tools for off-roading. It comes in 18-inch aluminum alloys. They are lightweight and improve the power-to-weight ratio of the truck. The front fascia is not too large, and the mesh is painted black. Headlights are longer and extend to the side.
On the bumpers, there is a prominent winch and hook capability. The ride height is higher to make sure nothing gets stuck under you. The tailgate is dual-action and has a lockable bed trunk. There are also numerous exterior colors to help you personalize the pickup’s look to your preference.
There isn’t going to be too much new stuff under the hood of the 2024 Honda Ridgeline. The redesigned pickup will continue to run on the well-known engine. We are, of course, talking about the mighty 3.5-liter V6. With amazing performance, this engine is all you could ask for in a pickup. The powertrain can produce 280 horsepower, which is more than enough to move the midsize Ridgeline around. It will come with a 10-speed automatic transmission. There is a lot of other cool technology that will arrive with the powertrain. There is the i-VTM4 all-wheel drive system. It is a proactive 4WD system that improves handling and stability no matter the weather conditions. This is yet another proof that the Ridgeline is capable of off-roading. It can be further adjusted depending on the terrain type you are driving on.
The system can be perfect for sand, mud, and snow. With that type of performance, the pickup can tow 5000 pounds easily. This is not the best in class, but it will suffice for your daily needs. The payload is also not small, as it can fit two motorcycles on its back. There is also an adaptable suspension that will make the ride more smooth. under armor to protect the truck’s bellyRock-crawling capability is there as well. The pickup seems like a perfect off-roading vehicle. There are numerous reports of possible hybrid powertrains or even electrification. This doesn’t come as a complete shock. Many manufacturers are racing to go green with their whole fleets. But Ridgeline is still using the traditional combustion engine. It would make sense as well.
A small hybrid boost will improve performance and make the engine more durable as it is not under a lot of stress. The hybrid variant would offer more torque and better fuel economy than the V6 that is currently in use. not to mention better horsepower. However, we believe that full electrification is preferable. A battery pack of at least 150 kWh should suffice. This should match the output of the current engine and give the truck good range. Above 350 miles on a single charge, even on difficult terrain, It should be capable of fast charging. Of course, this requires a bit more work. The platform needs modifications in order to accommodate the electric powertrain components. With strict emission regulations, it is the logical move for Honda.
The new 2024 Honda Ridgeline gets good mileage. According to numerous tests, the current version can get 21 mpg in combined driving. As we already mentioned, hybrid powertrains would greatly improve the numbers.
The estimated price for the upcoming 2024 Honda Ridgeline is $36,000. This is not the most expensive midsize in the category, so they have that going for them. The arrival date isn’t available yet, but we are expecting it to be in the fall of 2023.
