This year Ram is trying to be the top dog with its 2023 Ram 2500 model. The three powerhouses of Ram, General Motors, and Ford have forever been fighting to take the crown. These car manufacturers have always tried to get the bragging rights to the best truck. Whether it be the best tower, the one that could transport the biggest payload, or perhaps the most technologically advanced.
Since the new models are coming out quite soon, Ram is trying their best to take the lead. Their 2023 Ram 2500 truck is another heavy-duty pickup truck. It is a modern take on the old classic look, they made some modifications to both exterior and interior. It is still not clear how big of a remodel it is but we are expecting big changes. Let us take a deep dive and see just how big of a surprise truck aficionados are in.
We can probably expect a complete overhaul of the exterior design on the 2023 Ram 2500. It is believed that the designers are going to give it an aggressive look. This means sharper and more modern lines as opposed to predecessors. There is going to be an even bigger front grille equipped with top-of-the-line LED headlights.
This is going to get some heads turned for sure. The hood is getting an overhaul as well. More chrome will complete the aggressive look. The designers are also stepping away from classic-looking headlamps and making them thinner. A big change up on the new 2023 Ram 2500 is the mirrors. They will have power and manual applications and they will have heating which is a big plus. They are of course foldable and come with a lot of gadgets. These include LED puddle lights, blind spot indicators, a camera, LED turn signals, and a towing camera.
The newest Ram 2500 model is sporting 18-inch all-black wheels. These are made from aluminum which will shave off some weight from the already heavy truck. Put all of this together and you get one mean machine that is ready to get towing. A certain version of this HD pickup comes with black surrounds for the headlights. The interior will also be getting a new look. Interior changes in the 2023 Ram 2500 are not as drastic as the exterior ones, but will nevertheless give it a sleek modern look. Technology is advancing quickly and designers saw it fit to equip their new flagship truck with all the newest equipment.
The truck is going to have a huge 12-inch touchscreen. The upholstery and the dashboard are getting upgraded with new top-of-the-line materials. Expect leather seats and leather on heating knobs. There unfortunately aren’t going to be wooden pieces on the interior. But modern looks require modern materials.
The Power Wagon, though, comes with a 750-watt music stereo system. The interior was already nice and resembled more of an SUV than a dirty heavy-duty truck.
Ram is not changing too much in the engine department. Under the hood, the 2023 Ram 2500 is pretty much the same. The truck is still powered by a 6.4-liter V8 gas-powered HEMI engine. It is quite powerful with 410 horsepower and it has cylinder deactivation technology which is meant to save fuel. It can excel during heavy-duty towing and off-road driving. The standard version has an 8-speed automatic transmission and also rear-wheel drive which can come in handy when it is muddy.
There is word about the 6.7 liter with 6 cylinders engine which is a turbo diesel made by Cummins. It has less power with only 370 horsepower and 850-pound feet of torque.
Rumor has it that there will even be a version with over 1000 pound-feet torque, but it remains to be seen. The diesel version will have a 6-speed automatic transmission. With more torque, the diesel version will most certainly have better-towing capabilities.
Some reports indicate towards 2023 Ram 2500 using the ever-popular Allison transmission, but the jury is still out on this one. Due to the worsening climate changes, there are speculations about a hybrid version of the Ram truck. Although this would be good for the environment, we are not sure if a truck powered by electricity can shine in the heavy-duty department.
Word on the street is that the remodeled 2023 Ram 2500 will hit the stores next summer. Base models are expected to have a price of $ 35,000 to $ 37,000. This is an increase of only a couple of thousand dollars compared to the last entry-level Ram truck. This is not a lot when we take into consideration everything they have done to upgrade their flagship truck. On the other hand, the Power Wagon is estimated at more than $ 50,000. These prices are of course subject to change so we will have to wait and see the official announcement.
Ram is coming out swinging with the all-new look on their 2023 Ram 2500 truck. It is going to compete for attention with its nemesis Ford F-250 and Chevy Silverado 2500 HD. We are still not sure if its opponents are getting a touch-up. With a lot of improvements on the inside and outside Ram is a big fan favorite to take home the crown.
