Big trucks need more love, 2023 Ford F-250 Super Duty Tremor is about to get a refresh. We all know that the most populated and most popular segment of pickups is the mid-size one. This is with good reason. The mid-size trucks are versatile, and not just simple workhorses. They can be used for everyday agendas and come with style as well as powerful performance. On the other hand, heavy-duty trucks don’t get too much attention. Perhaps because they are not practical as everyday vehicles.
But when it comes to hauling and towing, they have plenty of power to show off. The F-250 model is one of the top-selling trucks. Its main competition is the RAM 2500 which is also a much sought-after pickup. We can expect some redesign changes on the interior and exterior of the F-250. The Tremor package is Ford’s way of making the truck off-road ready. This probably means equipping it with a toolset to make the ride enjoyable off the paved road. Powertrain changes might happen as well. Let’s take a closer look at what the new F-250 might look like and how it will perform.
The new 2023 Ford F-250 Super Duty Tremor has a lot of updates on the inside. The new technology is amazing and we are glad that Ford is improving its interior. First of all, this is a workhorse, so heated and ventilated seats are a must. They have more cushioning, which will come in handy on bumpy off-road rides. Massaging feature is possible on higher trims. The dashboard is fully digital which allows for customization and easier tracking of information.
There is also a heads-up display which adds some safety points and keeps your attention where it should be. There are cameras all around the F-250 so you don’t need two people to hitch something you want to tow. Cameras and sensors will help you. There is also software that will adjust your route for navigation based on the size and weight of something you are towing. That way you avoid getting stuck in traffic or sharp corners and tight spots.
The 2023 Ford F-250 Super Duty Tremor is one hell of a beast. It looks aggressive and ready to take on any path. The ride height is increased so you won’t get anything stuck under you. There are big 35-inch all-terrain Goodyear DuraTrac tires. The wheel rims are 18 inches and look quite sharp. They and the mesh are made from lightweight materials to shave off some weight.
This improves power to weight ratio which is extra useful with a truck of this size. There are running boards as well as winch and hook capabilities. The tailgate is also multifunctional. Headlights remain the same as before.
The Super Duty models are quite important to Ford. They are the majority of its sales and bring in a lot of profit. They probably helped Ford finance its electric pickup ventures. That investment alone stood over $35 billion. The 2023 Ford F-250 Super Duty Tremor won’t be a completely new pickup. There will be some changes under the hood. Some of them might be because of the upcoming emission regulations. The Super Duty remains a powerful beast. There will be two engine options, although seen before, both units will provide better performance. We have a 6.8-liter gas engine that is what became the 7.3-liter Godzilla engine.
According to rumors, it has more torque than the amazing 6.2-liter Boss V8. For diesel lovers, don’t worry, Ford has you covered. If you wish for more power in your F-250 then this engine is for you. The 6.7 liter V8 turbo Power Stroke. Both of these engines come with 10-speed automatic transmission and have all-wheel drive. They have discontinued the smaller 6.2-liter as it wasn’t making the sales numbers they hoped for. This truck is predominantly for work so the more power the better. The new 6.8 liters will have more power than the previous one. So count on more than 430 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque.
There is also a high-output version of the diesel engine. But Big Blue Oval is keeping shut on the exact output of these engines. Considering it’s Ford, we believe we won’t be disappointed. The Tremor package will further improve this performance with some ease-of-life tools. The suspension is specifically off-road tuned. This means you won’t need to tamper with it further to improve your ride comfort. But you can if you wish. There is also a rear-locking differential. This will improve the rock-crawling ability of the pickup. There is also winch capability which maxes out at around 12000 pounds. It will be interesting to see what else Ford improves with the F-250 Tremor to make it better for off-roading. But they sure made it powerful enough to take on the harshest of terrains.
Big engines aren’t really famous for being the most economic option with fuel. The diesel version of the pickup gets around 19 mpg combined when it’s just the truck. When towing some heavy stuff you will get closer to 13 mpg combined. Which is still good enough considering it’s for work and not pleasure. There are certainly more expensive pickups to run on the market.
The new 2023 Ford F-250 Super Duty Tremor is bound to drop sometime around the beginning of 2023. This is perhaps late to the party but better than never. The starting price for the basic trim will start at around $40,000. Of course, the Tremor trim will be an extra few grand. But it is good worth that money.
