Toyota is coming out swinging once again with their flagship truck, the new 2022 Toyota Tundra Capstone is about to happen. This full-size truck is gargantuan and many would put a label of a working horse on it.
But it is so much more than a simple working pickup. It is quite stylish and well designed. Attention was given to the smallest of details inside and outside. Numerous tweaks were happening to update the previous version so the specifications and performance were enhanced. Toyota is of course competing against the Big Blue Oval and Ram.
And while some manufacturers like to forget about the interior and slap a big engine under the hood, Toyota simply isn’t about that. They prefer their trucks to be a style statement so that people can use them for everyday life, not just for work.
So what exactly did Toyota put in or on their truck to get ahead of the competition? Is it purely stylistic, or perhaps they made the truck into a functional beast? Read along to find out more about the upcoming refreshments on the 2022 Toyota Tundra Capstone.
The new 2022 Toyota Tundra Capstone is all about making the passengers enjoy the ride. It is sprinkled with luxurious treatments all around the cabin. It truly does feel like a first-class ride. Starting with the cabin itself, it resides on hydraulic cab mounts. This allows Tundra to go at great speed even on the bumpiest roads.
The people inside the cabin shouldn’t feel things thanks to this ingenious invention. The seats have many options when it comes to materials. Leather, fabric, suede, and plush, along with this we will have a lot of new color choices. The instrument panel is built from scratch. It is very minimalistic with the least amount of knobs and buttons. It has a lot of wood and chrome on it, as well as the rest of the cabin. This simply screams luxury and we cannot stress enough how much this means to people who are driving along in the truck.
There is a huge 14-inch infotainment system on the panel. This controls everything connected to a battery. Everyone can join in on the fun since the screen is quite big. There are some buttons on the steering wheel so the driver doesn’t have to take his sight off the road. This greatly improves the safety aspect of the truck.
Toyota has put its Safety Sense in the new 2022 Toyota Tundra Capstone. This artificial intelligence system allows for safer driving and has Pre Collision System along with Pedestrian Detection. This should keep the driver and people on the road safer. There are also numerous cameras around the truck which allow for 360-degree sight.
With these gadgets parking this monster of a pickup, shouldn’t be a trouble at all. With all the extra gadgets and newest technology, we can safely say that Toyota is way ahead of its competition.
Perhaps another plus would be heated and ventilated seats, but this wouldn’t be the first time Toyota has put one of those in their vehicles. A panoramic roof is another thing that can improve the luxurious feel of the truck.
On the outside, the refreshed 2022 Toyota Tundra Capstone is in every way as stylistic as on the inside. The ride height is tremendous; nothing will get stuck under the Tundra. It resides on 22-inch chrome rims. They are lightweight to shave off some weight, which this truck could use.
They are very shiny and stylish. There is a unique front grille on the front fascia. Again it is bedazzled with chrome and other lightweight materials with a big Toyota sign and Tundra signed on the front. There are also chrome Tundra inserts on the back of the truck. The glass is acoustic so you can enjoy the sounds inside without being bothered by traffic or unwanted noise.
The cargo bed is 5.5 feet long. This can be extended with various tailgate features. The colors offered are Wind Chill Pearl, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Celestial Silver Metallic, Midnight Black Metallic, Supersonic Red, and Blueprint.
Side mirrors also contain chrome as well as bumpers. Overall a very stylish build and looks like the big Tundra. The dimensions were unchanged, while the style was tweaked a bit. It is curvier and with more angles. This improves ergonomics and aerodynamics.
Further, these will improve fuel efficiency and stability on the road. The headlight design is still in the shape of a T letter. To ensure the best safety it uses the latest LED technology.
The new 2022 Toyota Tundra Capstone will have an i-Force MAX hybrid system under its hood. This can produce around 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque.
This is more than enough to move the big Tundra around and tow and maximum capacity. It has a twin-turbo V6 engine with a generator to give more power to the electric part of the hybrid system. This powertrain comes paired with a 10-speed automatic as standard.
It can tow around 10.340 pounds without any issues. The hybrid system can kick in during towing time and aim for efficiency in the city or performance on the open road. You can haul around 1.500 pounds in the back of a Tundra.
Hybrid systems have proven to be a reliable powertrain even with big trucks. No need to give it a simple gas guzzler when with an electrical motor it can go faster and longer and also improve fuel efficiency. It will be interesting to see if in the future we get all-electric Tundra.
Starting price for the stylish 2022 Toyota Tundra Capstone is $73.530. This is a bit steep, but we can safely say you will get your money’s worth considering the package.
The release date is aimed at the end of 2022 and it doesn’t get pushed back hopefully.
