New 2022 Ford F-250 is getting serious upgrades. This heavy-duty truck has been spied recently and it seems like the next-gen model is on the way. This is not official yet, but even the most reliable reports are already writing about the new Super Duty generation. Interestingly, Ford doesn’t have a logical order when it comes to introducing new-gen models.
For example, some Super Duty generations lasted for almost a decade. Some other generations were present for only three years. Anyway, major changes are about to happen and the sales should begin later this year. The spied prototype didn’t reveal that much, but still enough for us to make some conclusions. Here’s everything you need to know.
Ford F-250 Spy Shots
The forthcoming 2022 Ford F-250 will arrive with numerous visual updates. We hoped to see a complete redesign. Instead, it seems like the Blue Oval opted for numerous but minor upgrades. Basically, every exterior part is updated but we couldn’t spot something drastically different. Still, we are waiting for heavy camouflage to come off. Dimensionally, the truck looks the same so we believe the architecture is unchanged. The camouflage hides something new upfront, most likely the new cut grille.
This grille comes with a sharper look and it probably comes with additional chrome accents. Ford will opt for slimmer headlights and generally, the front part will now look new and more modern. The flared fenders seem to be wider than before and the rear part will introduce a new tailgate step. To the sides, we only expect new wheels, probably optional. Lastly, new exterior paints will surely become available.
Interior Updates
On the inside, the 2022 Ford F-250 will get various refreshments. The spy shots failed to deliver a closer look in the cabin. However, we can confirm a new infotainment system and the redesign of the dashboard. The interior will remain as spacious and practical as always before.
The seating layout remains and Ford will offer the same cab configurations once again. This truck will arrive with more chrome materials, probably new upholstery, and new interior color schemes. Furthermore, a complete Super Duty lineup will probably gain new driver-assistance systems.
F-250 Specs
Under the hood, the 2022 Ford F-250 will stick to its proven engine lineup. Everything starts with a 7.3-liter V8 engine. This gasoline output is capable of producing 430 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. It is the most powerful gasoline engine in the segment, according to Blue Oval automaker. Still, the highlight of this model is its impressive 6.7-liter PowerStroke diesel powertrain option.
It is a very reliable unit that generates up to 1050 lb-ft of torque. We saw improvements in terms of torque ratings from the Ram and Ford could deliver an even higher level of twisting power in the future. The manufacturer will release official details in the coming months.
2022 Ford F-250 Release Date, Price
The arriving Super Duty lineup will probably hit the dealerships at some point in the second half of the year. This means the 2022 Ford F-250 is around six months away. The price will start at around $36,000 while the upper trim levels will cost above $50,000.
