A recently redesigned, light-duty, 14th generation Ford F-150 goes on sale with 92% of the parts new, six powertrain options including the hybrid version, six equipment groups, three cab and cargo bed styles and myriad package options. The best-selling pickup truck employs also the newest infotainment and safety technologies and Ford added also several practical solutions. The all-new 2021 version skipped, however, the off-road-ready Raptor version that will join the range for the 2022 model year. The 2022 Ford F-150 will also make changes in the equipment availability and offer new package options. As things now stand, the all-electric version should arrive for the 2023 season.
The redesigned Ford Raptor should employ the mighty supercharged V-8 engine from the Shelby GT500 to challenge the Ram Rebel TRX powered by the 702-hp Hellcat V-8 unit. The upcoming Ford Raptor should also come with the reworked rear suspension geometry. Alongside the Raptor-badged model, Ford will also add new package options and wheel and color patterns. The zero-emission, Ford F-150 Electric should arrive in the mid-2022 likely as the 2023 model.
2022 Ford F-150: Design
Following the recent redesign, the 2022 Ford F-150 will return with no significant structural or visual upgrades. Ford will add the fresh package, wheel and color options. The Ford Raptor will also come with specific visual enhancements, a new engine and reconfigured suspension.
The off-road-ready, light-duty Ford Raptor will again get attention with the bolder presence and specific styling elements. The model will feature a unique grille style and tweaked headlights. The hard-core version will also have a wider track and fender flares. A part of the model’s identity will also be massive, all-terrain tires, skid plates, tow hooks and unique decals.
The rest of the next Ford F-150 range will return in the same form. The recent redesign brought evolutionary styling changes. The model will offer up to 13 grille options plus the Raptor-specific one. Buyers will also choose between various wheel styles sized from 17- to 22 inches.
The half-ton Ford F-150 will again be available in three cab and cargo bed styles. The Ford Raptor will come in the SuperCrew configuration only.
The 2022 Ford F-150 will come without notable in-cab changes. The model will be on offer in various trim and cab options. Bures will have at disposal everything from the work-oriented machine to luxuriously appointed models including also the new Raptor version.
The recently all-new Ford F-150 will go on sale with a modern Sync 4 infotainment system and at least an 8-inch touchscreen. The model will also be available with the horizontally-oriented 12.0-inch touchscreen with split-screen capability.
Ford will also offer various material options ranging from the durable vinyl upholstery reserved for the base version to premium, stitched leather surfaces. There will also be an upgraded seat option. A list of the comfort features will also include heated, ventilated and massaging seas. Buyers will also get various material and trim patterns depending on the equipment group.
The light-duty Ford F-150 will also employ the newest safety technologies. Every model will at least get automatic emergency braking and automatic headlights. There will also be blind-spot monitoring, reverse automatic braking, active lane control, etc.
2022 Ford F-150: Powertrains
The 2022 Ford F-150 will go on sale with six familiar powertrain options in addition to the new supercharged V-8 engine under the hood of the Raptor version.
The new Ford Raptor will employ a Shelby GT500 sourced 5.2-liter supercharged V-8 engine. The engine should produce up to 750 hp. With this engine under the hood, the new Raptor will challenge the Ram Rebel TRX powered by the 702-hp Hellcat engine. The upcoming Ford Raptor should also use a new coil-spring rear suspension.
Buyers will again have the current six powertrain options at disposal. The entry-level powertrain will again be a 3.3-liter V-6 unit. The turbocharged petrol options will include a 2.7-liter V-6 and 3.5-liter bi-turbo V-6 units. There will also be a mighty 5.2-liter V-8 engine. A recently added 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 will also be on the offer.
The Ford F-150 Hybrid will employ a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine assisted by the 45-kW electric motor and small battery pack.
2022 Ford F-150: Release, Price
The next 2022 Ford F-150 should enter the market in fall 2021. The range should again cost from about $29, 000. The all-electric model should arrive for the 2023 season.
